HOPE
as autumn yields to winter’s grasp
the kingdom lies in frost
each fallen leaf a mote of hope
now frozen but not lost
for to the ground it shall return
and when the springtime comes
the life that comes anew shall rise
and reach towards the sun
until that precious time arrives
that hope shall lay in wait
and in the winter months look to
the splendour that awaits
